We want you to "fall in lauf" with your new bike! That’s why we give you 30 days to ride it, test it, and see if it’s your perfect match. If it’s not, we’re here to help with a smooth return process.


Before You Decide to Return Your Lauf Bike

Tip: Small adjustments can make a huge difference: 

  • Saddle height 
  • Stem position 
  • Tire pressure

The Trial Rules

You have 30 days to test your bike, but there are a few rules you need to follow:

  • No racing – Competitive events void returns.
  • No major modifications – Tubeless setups, chain waxing, or non-standard parts void returns. 
  • Original parts only – All components and accessories must be included. 
  • No epic travel – Airline travel or certain bike racks may cause abnormal wear. 
  • Keep it clean – See Cleaning Fee below.
  • Condition matters – Mint condition keeps your refund high. 

How to Return Your Bike

  1. Fill out the Bicycle Return Form within 30 days of delivery. 
  2. Take clear photos — full bike and close-ups of key areas, both sides. 
  3. Pack the bike in the original box with all protective materials. No box? Your local bike shop can professionally pack it for you — packing costs are not covered by Lauf Cycles. 
  4. Contact Lauf Customer Support to receive your return label. 
  5. Ship the bike back to Lauf Cycles Warehouse. Once it arrives and passes inspection, we’ll process your refund. 

Important: Proper packing and protection are the customer’s responsibility.

Bikes damaged in transit due to insufficient packing may have deductions applied according to our refund table.

Fees for Returns

  • Size swaps are free if the bike is returned in mint condition — because the right fit matters. Minor scuffs may incur a small fee, and bikes with noticeable wear are processed as standard returns.
  • Other returns: Restocking fee applies:

1–14 days → $100 

15–30 days → $200

Condition & Refunds

  • Condition: Mint (Excellent)
    What it Looks Like: Bike shows almost no signs of riding. Frame, fork, wheels, and components are free of scratches, dents, or marks. Minor shipping scuffs only.
    Refund Impact: Full refund (0% deduction).
  • Condition: Good
    What it Looks Like: Bike has light signs of use. Small cosmetic scratches on frame, fork, crank, derailleurs, or wheels visible upon close inspection.
    Refund Impact: 5% of bike price deducted.
  • Condition: Fair
    What it Looks Like: Bike shows noticeable wear from riding. Scratches or scuffs visible from 1–2 meters under normal daylight. Wheels and drivetrain show signs of use.
    Refund Impact: 8–10% of bike price deducted.
  • Condition: Poor
    What it Looks Like: Bike has extensive wear or damage beyond normal riding. Deep scratches, dents, significant scuffs, or component damage.
    Refund Impact: 15% of bike price or partial/no refund.

Minor test ride wear (dust, small dirt marks) is acceptable and won´t reduce the refund.

Inspection notes and photos will be shared with the customer if a deduction is applied.

Additional Fees

Missing or non-original parts: $5–$30 per item (chargers, cords, bar tape, tires)

Assembly adjustments: $30 per item if parts need reassembly:

  • Readjust / swap tires
  • Adjust stem
  • Re-wrap bar tape

Cleaning fee: $100 if bike is excessively dirty (mud on frame/fork, drivetrain grime, dirty tires).
 Light dust or minor road dirt is fine and won’t incur a fee.

Return policy for Lauf framesets, Components and Other Products

Eligibility (14-day returns):

  • Unused and in mint condition: Keep them pristine!
  • Original packaging required: Protect the goods.
  • Exclusions: Water bottles and used / worn bib shorts are non-returnable.

How to Return Framesets, Components and Other Products

  1. Fill out the Components and Accessories return form within 14 days of delivery.
  2. Follow the shipping instructions provided by our CS team.
  3. Include a tracking number for peace of mind and make sure to provide it to the CS team.

Note: Lauf is not responsible for products damaged in shipping or damaged due to insufficient packing.

Processing & Refunds 

  • Inspection usually takes up to 5 business days
  • If everything checks out, we’ll refund your payment to the original method and let you know — your return is complete. 
  • If any parts are missing, damaged, or the product returned doesn’t meet our return criteria, we’ll contact you to discuss next steps. 
  • Product (bikes, frameset, forks) must be returned well-packed and protected. Damage due to loose parts or insufficient packaging may result in deductions.

Legal Safeguards 

 All returns are subject to inspection and approval by Lauf Cycles. 

Lauf Cycles is not responsible for damage incurred during shipping or due to insufficient packaging. 

US Customers: This policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the United States of America. 

International customers: Local consumer protection laws may apply in addition to this policy. By placing an order with Lauf Cycles, you agree that any disputes not governed by local law will be resolved under Virginia law. 

Lauf Cycles reserves the right to update or modify this policy at any time.
